Moving Again and Again and Again

Moving seems to be never-ending. We've left Douglasville. Our last Sunday at Bright Star was May 28, and it was really difficult to leave friends that we'd become so close to there. Kara and I both underestimated what a big job it was going to be to pack up our house. This process makes the life of a nomad seem more appealing- not having all of the stuff to pack up.

We took three loads of things to my brother Jason's house in Alpharetta, GA, and we brought two U-Haul trailers with us to Kara's parent's house in St. Louis, where we are now. Then in a few weeks we're going to pack some of the things back up again and go to my parents' in TX. It kind of feels like we're having to pick up rocks, move them, then move them back again.

But we are getting to spend a lot of time with our families this summer, which we're really enjoying. That and looking forward to being at the children's home makes all of this moving madness bearable.

Halfway There

We've passed the 50% mark toward our fundraising goal; 50.94% to be exact!

In Memory of Matt Glidden

Along with our friends in Douglasville, Kara and I had broken hearts this week as we heard of the untimely and tragic death of one of our friends, Matt Glidden. Matt was in our Sunday School class and fellowship group at church, and his wife, Melissa, was on staff with me at Bright Star as our pre-school director.

Matt was only 31 and leaves behind a wife and almost 2-year-old daughter, Leah, both of whom he adored. Please keep Melissa and Leah in prayer, that the Lord would comfort them in their grief and be their guide in the months and years ahead.
